Our campus and accommodation
Our new town centre campus opened in 2018 and is built totally around you. How you want to study. How you want to live. Everything you could need is onsite. Take a tour here.
In the Learning Hub you’ll find specialist teaching spaces such as Midwifery and Nursing Suites, a Paramedic Ambulance and Policing suites which boasts a specialist Hydra facility. You’ll be able to make use of dedicated areas for both individual and group study, with plenty of places for silent working as well as for socialising. You’ll also find the library located within the Learning Hub, which is open 24 hours during the majority of the week and until midnight even in the holidays. You can borrow laptops and access a huge range of resources both in print and online.
The Creative Hub features facilities such as labs, art, print and textiles workshops, TV and radio studios and even media editing suites for all of our arts and sciences courses.
On the opposite side of campus you have our Sports Zone with indoor and outdoor facilities alongside specialist labs.
The Students’ Union is based in the Engine Shed, a Grade II listed building that has undergone an incredible refurbishment thanks to a £1.5m grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. Home to the SU student support services, sports and societies, you can grab a drink and a snack in the Pitstop café and have a catch up with friends. You’ll also find lots of regular on-site events there.
It’s never easy to leave home for the first time which is why our halls are designed with you and your needs in mind.
Our on-campus student village is just a few metres from the academic buildings where you’ll be learning. You could choose to live in one of the four-storey townhouses or perhaps you’d prefer one of the more traditional flats in halls of residence. Whatever you choose the student village accommodation comes fully furnished with all your utilities included in the rent – including a TV license for the communal living spaces - so no surprise costs!
